Andreas Tauber runs, together with his father Erich, Waldharthof farm in Rasa/Raas near Bressanone/Brixen. Alongside apple cultivation, the family specializes in holiday offers geared to pleasing the younger guests.
At Waldharthof farm, everyone pulls together: while mother Christine is pouring homemade elderflower cordial for the guests, father Erich is building a new pigsty. For Andreas, the young farmer, a natural method of cooperation. “Everyone helps out, it’s the only way it to make it work.” On an area of about 5 hectares, the Tauber family grows mainly Golden Delicious apples, making every helping hand necessary.
The 27-year-old is especially proud of the four holiday apartments. In the summer they are all booked up, particularly families enjoy the apartments. Several pigs, two horses and three cats also live at the farm. Touching is explicitly encouraged: “From the petting zoo to gathering eggs from the hens, we offer children a unique experience,” says the farmer. The highlight is, however, a llama and an alpaca who have been living at the farm for only a few years, but obviously feel at home there.
Andreas Tauber will take over the farm from his father, just as he took it over from his father. His concept apparently works well: “This summer, we are already fully booked,” the young farmer explains.
