Jonagold

A ripe Jonagold has a somewhat herbal peel and a discreet aroma of pear and banana with slight astringency. Its pulp is a bit grainy, its taste, pleasantly sweet-tart.

The variety Jonagold inherited its high productivity from its parent species Golden Delicious. Jonagold predominantely grows in higher-lying regions and naturally brings out large apples. Due to Jonagold’s juicyness, this variety is often used for apple juice.
