"When you marry a farmer, you marry the whole package," says Priska Weger. “This I well know by now, but I’ve never regretted it.

Before her time at the Oberhaslerhof farm in Schenna/Scena, Priska had nothing to do with agriculture. These days she takes care of three holiday apartments and helps with all the farm work.
Her husband Klaus' farm has been owned by the family since 1592. In fact, it was first documented in 1253 and is now in its 22nd generation. Klaus and Priska cultivate 8 hectares of apple orchards with the varieties Golden Delicious, Gala, Fuji, Braeburn and Red Delicious in addition to 1 hectare of vineyards.

Over 100 herb varieties

In addition to apples and grapes, the Oberhaslerhof farm also grows quirl malve, tuber cress or Schenner cress - just to name a few of the more than one hundred varieties in Priska's herb garden. She began growing herbs more than 20 years ago and now supplies cooks in Schenna with the rarities, sells herb salts, experiments with new varieties and conducts herb tours.

Since 2017, their sons Hansjörg and Martin have also joined the traditional farm operation.
